I recently picked up a couple of palettes at Winners.. one is Kat Von D's Innerstellar palette, and Make Up Forever's Artist Palette Vol. 4. They both are cool matte palettes, with a focus on taupes, purples, and steel blues. I'm a big fan of the recent warm palette trend, with sunset and fire focused colour palettes, so these colours are really not a part my typical look. I'm told purples look good with green eyes and I tend to agree, but I still insist on orange and gold!
I also decided to take a "before," no makeup photo to bring up alongside my finished look.. I have decent skin, I love skincare as much as I love makeup! But I'm not so blessed in the eyebrow department, so it's interesting to see the transformation.
Eyeshadow palettes used are the two I mentioned, with The Ordinary's Cover foundation in 1.0N and MAC Creme Cup cremesheen lipstick.

BoxyCharm, FabFitFun + A Look
Today I received BOTH of my beauty box subscription packages! So naturally I had some fun opening up some new products to try and making a colourful, summery look with my new palette from Alamar Cosmetics.
FabFitFun is a SEASONAL box that typically contains items pertaining to beauty, health, and home. A seasonal subscription will net you a couple of "choices" for products, but the rest will be randomly selected and sent in your box. If you subscribe for an annual membership, for all the seasonal boxes, you can make more choices. Summer 2018 was my first box, so I wasn't sure if I wanted to choose a long subscription, plus I like a little bit of mystery.

My box contained:
- tarte tarteist™ PRO glow highlight & contour palette
- Erth TU Y YO Ring
- Maji Sports Loop Resistance Band
- Orlando Pita Play Atmos-Shield Hair Protectant Treatment Spray
- FOREO LUNA! fofo
- COOLA Classic Face SPF 50 White Tea
- Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish
- Wildlife Conservation Society Straw
- Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case
If you're interested to see some variations, check out the FFF forums or Instagram hashtags like #fabfitfun.
Overall, I'm very happy. The website says my box is worth $342.99, and I paid $39.99 as I used a $10 off code from the regular price of $49.99. I think it's worth it for the Tarte palette and Foreo fofo alone. I'm not super impressed that I ended up with the resistance band, as that's something I already have at home and I don't think it's as nice as a skincare or bodycare item like many others received in its place. I also already own a Foreo Luna 2 that I ADORE, so I might be able to convince my significant other to use this one - even though it's pink! The ring dish looks amazing on our custom DIY computer desk, and matches the marble tiling I have underneath my keyboard. The ring is comfortable and gorgeous. I still have to give the other items a try.
My only other beauty subscription is from BoxyCharm, which I have had for 7 months now. I love it because it's inexpensive and features full-sized products. My only "complaint" about Boxy is that they seem to have good relationships with a few beauty brands that get repeated .. a lot. I've received so many PUR and Crown items, and they're kind of hit or miss. BUT THIS JUNE 2018 BOX WAS A HUGE HIT FOR ME!

- Luxie Face Brushes: Luxie Rose Gold Precision Foundation 660 Luxie Rose Gold Tapered Highlighting Face Brush 522 Luxie Rose Gold Duo Fiber Powder Brush 516
- Battington Monroe Silk Lashes
- Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream (25ml travel size)
- Alamar Cosmetics Palette
- Ofra Cosmetics' liquid lipstick in Verona
I actually immediately depotted the eyeshadows because I really don't have the space for any large palettes. The cardboard packaging wasn't my favourite and it was very easy to pop the shadows free from the glue on the cardboard backing. The mattes are SOFT, though, in a way that makes the shadows crack in layers almost immediately. I had to repress 3 matte shades, but no one was lost 😄 I bought some new lash glue earlier in the month in anticipation of receiving this box, but I like to save them for semi-special occasions!
Here's a look I created today using the Alamar palette, the Tarte highlight & contour, and Verona lipstick.

I have been blogging more on my personal blog than this one - oops! I know that every time I get back here, I make empty promises to myself and whoever the heck reads this that I will post more. I honestly want to, I have so many new things I want to blog about! I just got a big order of things from BH and NYX.
I thought I looked pretty nice today, so I had my mom (!!!) snap a quick photo outside.

Burning Heart look
Hi! I feel like I bring this up every time, but long time, no blog.
The other day I was inspired to recreate a lovely face: Ellie Goulding in her new video for Burning Heart. It's an everyday look that I found was easy to create with only a few products. You're pretty much set if you own UD's Naked 3 palette! I only used colours from there, and one from Naked 2, but it's not going to make or break things.

I didn't bother with falsies and my liner wing is a bit long, but I think it turned out pretty good!
The products I used:
☆ primer - rimmel fix and perfect
☆ liquid foundation - avon ideal flawless in "light ivory"
☆ powder - avon smooth minerals in "porcelain"
☆ blush - stila "precious pink" (but only very light! almost non-existent)
☆ brows - nyx brow kit in for blondes, nyx eyebrow marker in "medium"
☆ eyes - naked 3 palette (strange, limit, nooner), naked 2 (tease)
wet n' wild liner in "dark brown"

l'oreal voluminous & sephora full action mascaras (layered!)
☆ lips - MAC "creme cup" (a bit too pink) followed by nyx soft matte lip cream in stockholm, then blotted a bit of my porcelain powder because it was too dark/bright still! but it ended up being a good combination
And as you can all see, I am happy with how I do my brows now! This is how I do them every day. I was hesitant to do something "dark" and big, but I love them. I usually post about how I have no clue how to handle them, but until I try something else, here's my usual face!
I want to try and do this more.. where else do you guys get inspired to copy certain looks? Just films and videos, or anywhere else?

A look & a couple new things..
I previously owned Photoshop CS3, but recently it's been junking up on me and freezing every time I try to open it. I went ahead and got CS5 and it's awesome.. I have been cropping my photos so they look so much better for here!
I've never really uploaded a picture where I'm not showing off some stupid makeup or whatever.. I felt kind of pretty yesterday before I started throwing up and feeling sick:
Yeah, I worked all weekend and then came home and got sick. :( I decided to buy myself some new stuff on the way home to make myself feel better. I popped into Walmart to check out more Wet N' Wild products and found the Blue Had Me At Hello palette. They are $5 and the colours are actually so beautiful. I don't usually use blue eyeshadow, but I found the other 8-colour palettes to be a bit boring. I have a lot of neutrals and some purples already.

The sparkly black "definer" is so much prettier in the palette than it is swatched.. though I did the swatches without primer. I hope I can get it to show up better another time. My favourite in this is the darker blue "crease" colour with all the sparkles - it's the fifth one from the left in the swatch photo. It's SO glittery and just gorgeous, I'm really excited to actually use it!

I've been on the hunt for the new glitter Revlon polishes for about a month now since they've popped up in others' blogs. I will admit I had given up (I live in a decent-sized city, but the only places I can look for cosmetics I see online are Shoppers Drugmart and Walmart), but then I walked into Shoppers and THEY WERE THERE. I decided to skip out on Blue Mosaic because it lacked a base colour and was just basically glitter. I didn't have to think twice about picking up Starry Pink and Facets of Fuchsia, though. I'm still wearing Red Carpet on my fingers this week, so I'll have to wait until next Monday to try one out. It's going to be a tough decision once I finally change my nail polish!
I'm on the hunt for L'Oreal Owl's Night now. I think I'm going to have an even worse time with that one than I have with the Revlon ones. Here's to hoping!
Anyways, here's my look from Sunday. I always have an extra hour before work on Sundays and I get bored, so lately I've been just doing different makeup.
Shadows - All from my Bh Cosmetics 88 Colour Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Eyeliner - Wet N' Wild Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner, Dark Brown
Mascara - Covergirl LashBlast Fusion, Black Brown

Wet n' Wild Eyeshadow Trio, Sally Hansen Xtremewear - There are feet in this post. Be warned.
I am a huge fan of Temptalia. I can't afford every new Chanel or MAC product, but I like to look at Christine's photos because I personally think she does the best swatches of everything. I first saw a couple of Wet n' Wild Colour Icon Eyeshadow trios on the blog and decided I needed to finally try one. I picked Sweet As Candy - a shimmery white, medium golden brown, and princessy pink. These palettes, let me tell you.. they all look nice, have good colours, and are affordable and easily found in my area. Perfect. I have a lot of Avon and Mark eyeshadows and a Bh Cosmetics palette, but I don't generally buy palette or individual shadows. This needs to change! I'm in a big eyeshadow phase right now, it's kind of crazy. I almost want to go buy more things tomorrow. But anyways, I really like these. They last ALL DAY on me, even without primer. The shadow is soft and creamy and builds up easily. I'm not as big a fan of the "browbone" colour, though.. it didn't translate so well once it was actually on my eyelid. It looks nice in the palette and on my hand. Oh, well. I have a shimmery cream-coloured Mark shadow that I use nearly every day, so even if I decide I really dislike this one, I'm not really out any money. It was $4.97 at my local Walmart, and I'm in love with the other two colours.
Please excuse my eyebrows in the following pictures. See this post. I have also been neglecting them lately and seeing how it goes. Whatever.
So there's that! I want to buy every single one that's kicking around right now eventually. I would recommend them if you are looking to experiment with some new colours or aren't a huge shadow-abuser (yet). They're cheap and nice enough.
ALSO while I was out, I picked up a new nail polish. I'm way too cheap to go for Essie and OPI (oh yeah). I have been obsessed with glitter lately (eyeshadow and glitter.. the ultimate combination?), so this really piqued my interest when I saw it. I actually have a friend at school that has this polish and I kind of overlooked it when she suggested it to me before. She described it as "Dorothy's ruby slippers." I think it's a pretty good description! It's Sally Hansen Xtremewear in Red Carpet.
I painted my toes because it's my weekend to work and I just removed some nondescript black junk off my nails this afternoon. I would suggest you don't scroll all the way if you think feet are gross and weird. I think mine are pretty attractive, but I know the average person doesn't get the warm fuzzies when they see feet.
(I wish the camera could capture the sparkles!)
Yay! I'm calling this my Ruby Slipper Red.
